Hay ladies and gentleman… this is my first blog, so if there any mistakes please forgive me, today I would like to share local culture tour experience at "Rammang-Rammang" at Maros Regency and at "Traditional Market, Pandai besi , and Batari" at Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This is the 1st field trip since I studied at Poltekpar Makassar.
On 17th October 2019 we are gathering at down the hall at Makassar Tourism Polytechnic and then the tour leader ensure that all participant attend the tour then the tour leader performing absence. After that we are heading to Rammang-Rammang pier one in Maros Regency and from Rammang-Rammang pier one we are heading to Berau Village by boat .while we are on the bus each student will guiding about each regency and city that we passed. Once we're on a bus every student will guide every district and city we pass. After arriving at the camp we make an observation after observing all participants prepare for lunch and a midday prayer for moslem.
after lunch and a midday prayer for moslem. we continue our observation in the village of Berua. I visit Kingkong Stone, Stone Hills, and Diamonds cave.
Kingkong Stone , what I found in kingkong stone is a cave wall shaped like a kingkong head and footprints.
Stone Hills, what I want to see in stone hills is a spring but after I got there I didn't see it because there was a long dry season.
Diamonds Cave, the diamond cave was found through a dream, there was someone who dreamed that there was a cave and what I found in the cave were diamonds, octopus fossils, male half-body sculptures, coral reef fossils, elephant fossils, dinosaurs' head-shaped sculptures, and mother sculptures carry the child.
after I observed the three attractions, I got ready for the trip back to campus.
On 18th October 2019 we are gathering at down the hall at Makassar Tourism Polytechnic and then the tour leader ensure that all participant attend the tour then the tour leader performing absence.
after that we headed to the traditional market in Pangkep regency there I made observations around the market.
what I get there is that the traditional impression is still very much felt, evidenced by the interaction carried out in the local language by one seller to another. in traditional markets, traded goods are no different from markets in general. that is, they trade clothing, household needs, food, fish and other sea products, and more. because one of the livelihoods of the people of Pangkep Regency is as a trader. not only that as a fisherman, it can be proven by various types of sea catches caught at sea.
The second place that I and my friends visited was the blacksmith.
there, I and my friends wondered about the machete-making process. there we found 2 workers who were working and we asked. they also explained how to make it.
in one day, they can make 15 machetes. how to make it also consists of several stages. first they buy iron which costs 5 thousand per kilo and they then heat the iron then cool it and scrape it into a machete. the machete they sell on the market costs Rp. 75,000 per piece. the machete referred to here is only in the form of sharp steel, but not with the handle. they don't provide a handle.
the name of the machete-making business is KM. KM itself stands for business founder, Kamaruddin. This business has been very long and passed down from generation to generation.
The next place is BATARI (Milkfish without bone). Batari is a place where fish without thorns.BATARI is located in Pangkep Regency. BATARI is located near the beach. BATARI is located in Bulu Cindea Village, Bungoro District. BATARI was formed in 2014 and run for generations.
The motivation of this business owner to establish this business is because many people initially like to eat milkfish, but because milkfish has a lot of bones so people are lazy to consume them again. so business owners make boneless milkfish business, milkfish actually has a very high efficacy, it can even beat the efficacy of salmon.
there we also know more about milkfish. it turns out that milkfish has 164 bones. and in BATARI only trained people know where the bones are. they used tweezers but now they use anatomical scissors to remove bones from the milkfish. because they are already professionals, they can remove the banding bone in just 5-10 minutes. income from the BATARI business has reached 90 million per month. they not only distribute their boneless milkfish in the Pangkep district but also send it outside the district such as in Maros Regency and in the city of Makassar and even outside the city such as on the island of Java and in Papua. Until now they already have 2 distributors to be marketed outside the district and outside the city. The separated milk bones are also useful which can be processed into crackers. not only that their meat is also shredded, nuggets. the price of milkfish is IDR 10,000 for 200 grams and IDR 15,000 for 300 grams.
the last place we went to this Local Culture Diversity Tour was Attraction, namely the Dewi Biringkassi Mangrove Forest. This last place is the mangrove forest is actually not included in the agenda of activity in this tour but because there is still time, it is interesting if we go to this place too. This place is not far from Batari. We just need to walk a few meters to get to this mangrove forest. This place provides a variety of places to take pictures. This place is highly recommended for millennial children because this place is very modern and very much I love. This is where we end our tour with the sun shining brightly over the sea which was in front of us.Okay so the story is the local cultural tour 17-18th 2019 this time. I really thank you for the people who helped this tour. And very grateful to the advisers Ma'am Rosmila and Sir Rusdi for guiding us until the tour went smoothly. Thank you also to the vendors, mr. Juli and Mrs.arini. And also to our tour leaders Mrs.greisna and Mr.Sandi who were very patient with us.
